Old Ottawa East

The neighbourhood just east of the canal is called Old Ottawa East. This area is bordered by the Rideau Canal to the north and west, and the Rideau River which wraps around part of this community along its eastern and southern borders.

A quaint commercial strip along Main Street allows local residents to have quick access to health foods, a delicious vegetarian restaurant, pharmacy and local coffee shop, among other services. The recent addition of high-end condo projects and new infill housing has added a modern flair to this established community. Its long-time residents cherish the quiet, residential feel.

Old Ottawa East is filled with fantastic parkland, and is virtually surrounded by walking routes and bike paths, making it the ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts, dog-lovers and active families.
